Baltimore Dragon Boat Club, Baltimore, MD
The Baltimore Dragon Boat Club is a 501(c)(3) organization formed in 2008 to promote dragon boat racing by competing locally, nationally and internationally, while generating greater awareness of the ancient sport among Maryland residents through community outreach and education. Several days a week, from early spring until late fall, you’ll find these paddling enthusiasts at Tide Point Marina on Baltimore’s harbor having fun and training hard for upcoming festivals and regattas.
CCE Dragoneers, Ithaca, NY
CCE Dragoneers — Most team members are on the staff of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County; others are spouses, volunteers, friends or connected to Extension through campus. The mission of CCE-Tompkins is "to strengthen youth, adults, families and communities through learning partnerships that put knowledge to work". Cornell Sibley Dragons, Ithaca, NY
The Sibley Dragons are a fierce and fiery crew of students and professors from Cornell's Department of City and Regional Planning. Both new and veteran paddlers, they focus their work and studies on the interaction between the built environment and the economic, environmental and social components of cities, suburbs, countryside and regions. You'll find these graduates working in Planning Departments and non-profits around the world. They are here to enjoy this fabulous Ithaca summertime!
DCH Dragon Boat Racing, New York City, NY
DCH Dragon Boat Racing is a competitive dragon boat racing crew based in Queens, New York. It started as a men's crew in 1993 and has consistently been a competitive dragon boat club. DCH has since expanded to include women, mix, and junior crews. DCH members range from age 12 to 50 with a variety of different backgrounds. The club's crews consist of a men's, women's, mixed (co-ed) and junior's program. DCH Racing enjoys paddling competitively, in both national and international races, with recent trips to Hong Kong, Macau, Vancouver, and more trips planned for the future. DCH Racing is the 2006 Champions of the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in New York.
Dragonheart Mixed Snaps, Burlington, VT coed team
The Mixed Snaps are making their first appearance together at the Ithaca Race. We are a combo of Dragonheart's coed team called Mixed Nuts and Dragonheart's newest team of young women called Snapdragons. We are out to have grand time together in Ithaca paddling with all of our Dragonhearts!
Dragonheart Vermont Green Mountain Girls (>40 WomenÕs Team), Burlington, VT
Dragonheart Vermont Green Mountain Girls is a women's team that hails from Burlington, VT. We are a group of heart-y women who love paddling together on beautiful Lake Champlain. Though all over 40, we will be forever young because of our joy of paddling together. We began as family, friends, and supporters of Dragonheart Vermont Sisters- a breast cancer survivor team here in Burlington, Vermont. Inspired by the determination and heart of Sisters, it turns out that we love dragon boating as much as they do. We share a joy of dragon boating, sisterhood, and laughter. Our bodies feel stronger, our friendships have multiplied, and our hearts have grown bigger because of Dragonheart.
Dragonheart Vermont Sisters, Burlington, VT
Dragonheart Vermont Sisters is a breast cancer survivor dragon boat team from Burlington, Vermont (wwwdragonheartvermont.org). We have a special sisterhood. We are paddling our way to recovery and growing strong! In our 8th season, we have 4 teams named Sisters in different languages. Our Dragonheart team has learned that dragon boating is not only a team-building effort, but a community–building one. In five years, we have put on a charity dragon boat event that has raised over $433,000 for cancer-related causes in our community. Our real labor of love is Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival where we get 2000 people from our community out racing dragon boats for charity. What fun! We are sisters at heart, joined in the race to end breast cancer . . . at last.
Glimmerglass Dragons, Cooperstown, NY
Glimmerglass Dragons are a group of parents and community members, who want to help support Milford Central School's Mandarin Language and Cultural center. This center provides the opportunity for children and adults of our community to learn about and share in the culture, arts and language of China and other Asian countries. It also provides a place of support and camaraderie for the Asian adopted children and Asian Americans of this area.
Golden Dragon Youth Team, Ithaca, N.Y.
This enthusiastic team of 12 to 18 year olds from Ithaca and neighboring school districts has been training with the Titanium Dragon Youth Team and can’t wait for the culmination of the friendly rivalry!
Harvard Dudley Dragons, Boston, MA
The Harvard Dudley Dragon Boat Team is a group of students, staff, and faculty from Harvard and its affiliates, who participate in the sport of dragon boating. We have competed throughout the Northeast and internationally since 1999. We welcome all levels of skill and interest.
NY Wall Street Dragons, New York City, NY
Founded in 1991, New York Wall Street Dragons Cultural Foundation Inc., is one of the originating dragon boat clubs in New York City. Originally called New York Wall Street Lions (D.B.A.). Our club has traveled near and far and some of our members have paddled in festivals as far as Japan, Toronto, Montreal, Welland, Germany and as near as Connecticut, Rhode Island and Florida. Our club is diverse in age and team composites. We have participated in youth to senior divisions. Our club is bound by our enthusiasm for dragon boating, the camaraderie with our fellow teammates and good racing with our competitors.
Philadelphia Dragon Boat Association, Philadelphia, PA
The Philadelphia Dragon Boat Team has been in existence since 1983 and this will be our fourth year competing in Ithaca. A number of the club members attending the Ithaca Festival have competed internationally as part of Team USA. The PDBA Women’s team will include Senior and Premier paddlers while the Open team will be predominantly Seniors and GMs. One of our mixed boats will be mainly members of the PDBA Youth Team which won the Under 16 Gold Medal in Prague 2009. Team Waterfront, Ithaca, NY
This community team, TEAM WATERFRONT, represents 8 incredible not-for-profit organizations along Ithaca's waterfront that enhance quality of life for residents of Ithaca and Tompkins County: Hangar Theater, Ithaca Children's Garden, Cayuga Waterfront Trail, Floating Classroom, Ithaca Farmer's Market, Friends of Stewart Park, Ithaca Youth Bureau, and Alternatives Federal Credit Union. Most of these team members are first time Dragon Boat paddlers, and they are looking forward to the challenge. Organized and captained by Erin Marteal, Executive Director of the Ithaca Children's Garden, this team represents the beginnings of a partnership among these waterfront organizations. Team Waterfront is in this race to have fun. And WINNING IS FUN!

Our ability to paddle is only surpassed by our ability to trash talk and consume alcohol and, to be honest, almost anything we do surpasses our ability to paddle, but we're here and ready to compete. We are a competitive crew that is looking to move up in the standings. Although we are currently all 40+ paddlers, we are flexible on the age of prospective crew members, because we generally compete in premier division.

Women In Canoe is an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for all females by fostering self confidence and teamwork through the sport of dragon boating. The team is a diverse group from various professions, including finance, law enforcement, media, and homemaking whose age ranges from 16 – 50. Besides competing in the sport of dragon boat racing, Women In Canoe has taken a leadership role in the development of women's dragon boat racing in the United States. The United States Dragon Boat Federation, the national governing body for the sport in the United States, has considered the team to be a cornerstone in the foundation of competitive women's dragon boat racing in this country.
